At the end of the workshop delegates will have a good understanding of ISO 14001 and the implications on their workplace, an overall understanding of the requirements for the Certification Standard and how to audit against it. They will also each receive an internal audit certificate, demonstrating that they have the competence necessary to conduct internal audits as required by ISO 14001. Course notes will be provided.
The workshop will be structured into two distinct parts, as follows:
1. Part one – Audit Theory
- What is internal auditing?
- Scheduling audits
- An overview of the system for auditing including the four key stages of the audit
- Planning the audit
- Carrying the audit out
- Reporting the audit and giving feedback in a constructive manner
- Following up the audit findings
2. Part two – Practical Auditing
- Preparation for the case study audit
- Carrying out the case study audit
- Reporting the case study audit
This workshop is designed for anyone co-ordinating or tasked with working towards the ISO 14001 Standard. It will enable them to adopt the ISO 14001 approach and to develop the skills necessary to make good use an environmental system and to audit it for compliance and improvement.
