How Investors in People Works
Advice & Commitment:
At this meeting you can discuss your interest in Investors in People in more detail and the options in moving forward towards assessment and recognition, such as a diagnostic exercise or advisory support.
From there you can develop and work against your Investors in People action plan, outlining how you will progress with the framework including any activities you will undertake to prepare for assessment e.g. Investors in People advisory services and workshops.
By submitting your plan to us, you will also receive a certificate acknowledging your commitment to working with Investors in People. You can also receive this certificate by completing a commitment registration form or assessment booking form.
Assessment:
During the assessment, your assessor will visit your organisation onsite, interviewing a sample of people to assess against the evidence requirements of the framework identified at a planning meeting.
When all of the interviews are complete, the assessor will give verbal feedback on their findings and whether they recommend recognition. They can also give you a valuable insight into how well you are performing, suggest key performance indicators and also highlight where development activity could be focused.
Recognition:
If you were assessed against wider areas of the Investors in People framework, you may also have achieved more evidence requirements than The Standard. Achieving Investors in People Gold, Silver or Bronze status further acknowledges your organisation’s commitment to improved performance through people development.
If you achieve Gold recognition, you are also eligible to become an Investors in People Champion – a prestigious group of role model organisations who have been outstanding in promoting the values and principles of Investors in People.
Review – Continuous Improvement:
As an Investor in People you will need to have a review at least every three years and could also explore continuous improvement activities with us in between reviews to maintain and add value to the momentum achieved from your last assessment.
Your organisation could also look at working towards Gold, Silver and Bronze Investors in People recognitions to provide more stretch and challenge.
